The 8-House is situated between 3 roads:

West: Richard Mortensens Vej,

North: Asger Jorns Allé,

East: Robert Jacobsens Vej,

South: Kalvebod Sti.

Just 200 meter south of the METRO station “Vestamager” I passed a bronze monument and a big white car parking building:

I passed between the two apartment houses in direction north to the 8-House – and from a bridge passing a canal i got this view of The 8-House:

Here on the photos above and below you can observe the overall visions –  the architect design grip by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG):

A. To open a rectangular apartment building block to create light, space and views in all directions from all apartments

by

1. design a figure 8 and lifting the northern loop of the figure 8 and lower the southern loop of the figure 8,

2. arrange all commercial shops, restaurant, cafe, offices and children institutions in the base floor,

3. arrange all apartments in  upper part of both loops south and north of the 8 number.

B. To create energy, activity and community spirit

by

1. arrange apartments in two levels with small gardens in front in connection with a 1000 m long path, which meandering from base to top through the northern and southern loop of the 8 number of the 8-House. Children, parents, neighbors and visitors can easily walk, run and bike on this small path and join the community spirit of the 8-House.

2. combining apartmens and shops create a small village atmosphere and with the 1 km. long road from base to the top of the two loops gives an impression of a mountain village.
