On 3 January 2026, Denmark received a high pressure from Arctic Regions north of Scandinavia with day and night temperatures of minus 5-20 degrees. The following 10 days it snowed with 5-30 cm snow layer with temperatures minus 5-20 degrees all over Denmark.
I live all year round in my 86 m2 summerhouse in Melby North Sealand since 2012. My neighborhood, “Præstelodden”, is dominated by summerhouses with gardens, trees and 20-30 m high hills surrounded by beautiful landscapes of forets, fields and lakes.

Every day, I take a walk in my neighborhood. The length varies between one to four kilometres. I take such walks morning, noon, afternoon and evening.
The landscape changes in seasons spring, summer, autumn and winter in different colors – depending on light on day and on daytimes.
In this arctic winter 3.-12. January 2026 I walked several tours to “Seven Hills” (7-Høje) burials mounds in my neighborhood in Melby only 3-500 m from my summerhouse. I walked morning, midday and late afternoon and experience the landscapes in all colors depending of light from the sky – blue sky with sunshine, grey with different coverring of clouds all over or late sunset light.
